  • Z4-315-32 280 kW 750 rpm Selection Case | Jiangsu Dongyuan

This anonymized engineering case from the Jiangsu Dongyuan Motor OS illustrates how a Z4-315-32 DC motor enquiry is screened. It is published as a selection reference, not as a universal interchangeability claim.

Jiangsu Dongyuan is a China DC motor manufacturer handling industrial DC motor replacement and custom-build enquiries. Customer identity and commercial information have been removed; only selection-relevant technical facts are shown.

Recorded Project Data

Item Motor OS record
Original brand/reference Hefei Nanyang
Original model or requirement Z4-315-32
Proposed Jiangsu Dongyuan model Z4-315-32
Rated output 280 kW
Speed 750 rpm
Armature voltage 440 V
Cooling to be confirmed
Enclosure IP21S
Evidence status formally quoted

The recorded relationship is customized and formally quoted, with matching recorded power, speed, voltage and enclosure.

Why These Parameters Matter

Matching power alone is not enough. Power and speed determine the continuous torque reference, while voltage and current determine compatibility with the drive. Cooling and enclosure determine whether that output can be maintained at the specified site.

For this case, the proposed model should be treated together with its exact order code, winding data, outline drawing and accessory schedule. Any field-weakening range, peak overload or repeated reversal must be checked separately.

Electrical Checks Before Approval

  1. Confirm armature voltage, rated current and the existing converter output.
  2. Confirm field voltage, field current and the required speed-control range.
  3. Compare continuous torque and overload duty at the actual operating speeds.
  4. Verify encoder or tachogenerator type, signal, mounting and connector.
  5. Confirm cable entry, terminal orientation and customer protection settings.

If a value is listed as “not recorded” or “to be confirmed,” it must be obtained from the nameplate, drawing, drive documentation or site measurement before manufacture.

Mechanical and Installation Checks

A replacement motor is acceptable only when it can be installed and coupled safely. Compare shaft height, shaft diameter, extension, keyway, foot-hole pattern, flange, overall envelope and mass. Also check the direction of rotation, brush inspection access and space required to remove the fan or heat exchanger.

The same model family can have different shafts, windings and accessories. A Chinese DC motor factory should therefore submit a project drawing for approval instead of relying on a family name alone.

Cooling and Environmental Review

Confirm whether cooling air comes from the local room or a clean remote source. For IC06 or ducted ventilation, state airflow, pressure and inlet-air temperature. For air-to-air or air-to-water cooling, include the heat exchanger and site utility conditions in the technical scope.

Enclosure requirements must reflect dust, water, condensation and terminal-box exposure. Raising the IP rating may require a different cooling architecture and can change the available continuous output.

What the Evidence Status Means

“Ordered” or “formally quoted” means the relationship appears in an operational Motor OS record. It does not mean every motor carrying the same model label is automatically interchangeable. Serial-specific windings, accessories, dimensions and duty remain subject to confirmation.

This evidence discipline is important when comparing an industrial DC motor manufacturer with a trading-only offer. A responsible Chinese electric motor factory should distinguish verified facts from engineering assumptions.

Buyer Checklist for a Similar Project

  • Provide clear nameplate photos and the original outline drawing.
  • State driven equipment and operating cycle.
  • Provide minimum, base and maximum speed.
  • Confirm power, voltage, current, field supply and overload.
  • Specify IP, IC, ambient temperature, altitude and site contamination.
  • List mounting, shaft, coupling and terminal-box constraints.
  • List feedback, heaters, sensors, bearings and packing requirements.
  • Approve the final datasheet and drawing before production.
